Emma's 9 Months Old!/Tiene Emma 9 Meses!

Emma turned 9 mos. old on Sat. Oct. 13. She went to the doctor yesterday, and weighs in at 22 1/2 lbs. and is 28 1/2 inches tall. She's starting to gain weight slower now and she appears to be thinning out, but according to the charts, she's still in the 95th percentile for weight! What that means for us is that this time while we're shopping for a car seat (she's too heavy for the infant seat) we are looking for one that has an extended weight limit.

So what has Emma been up to lately? Well, we took her to Six Flags 2 weekends ago and she rode the carousel. That was the only ride they would let her on because she can't walk yet. She liked it at the beginning, but after a few times around I think she started to get dizzy and was clinging to me. She lifts herself up to a stand and walks from on side of what she's holding on to to the other.

She doesn't cry anymore when I leave her at the kid's club at the gym, in fact, I think she looks forward to playing there. She plays ball with me and Emmanuel, too. We roll the ball toward her, and she throws it back. She loves music, especially when she sees someone singing on the TV. She also loves books. She likes to take them all out of the bookshelf and open all the covers, flip through the pages, and then go play with something else until one of us cleans them up. She won't approach the books unless they are orderly (hehe).

She has 5 teeth now, and as Dr. McNair says, "she looks like a little hick baby". This is because her fang teeth are coming through, but there's no sign of the 2 front teeth. We'll see how we can play into that for Halloween...

Emma cumplio 9 meses sabado, el 13 de octubre. Fue al doctor ayer, y pesa 10.2 kilos y tiene 72.7 cm de altura. Ya esta creciendo mas lento, pero todavia esta en el 95% por los ninos en peso. Es decir que de 100 ninos, solo hay 5 que pesan mas. Y porque pesa 10.2 kilos, ya tenemos que comprar un portabebe mas grande.

Que hace Emma de nuevo? Bueno, fuimos a Six Flags hace 2 fines de semana, (la parque donde tienen montanas rusas y otras diversiones) y Emma monto a un carrusel por la primera vez. Al principio se diverto, pero al pasar algunos minutos creo que se mareo porque me estaba abrazando fuerte. Fue la unica diversion en que ella podia montar, porque tiene que poder caminar para montar a otras.

Emma se levanta sola y agarra la sofa o silla solo con la mano. Esta empezando ahorita tratar de mantener el equilibrio sin ayuda de las manos. Si esta agarrando la sofa, camina a un lado a otro. Yo me voy al gimnasio cada manana, y ya no llora cuando la dejo con las nineras. Le caen a Emma muy bien y les llama "la gordita y la necia". Son hermanas mexicanas y hablan a ella en espanol.

A Emma les encanta los libros. Le encanta ir a la biblioteca en la casa y jalar todos los libros de su plataforma, "leerlos", chuparlos, y salir para que mami or papi puede limpiar todo para que ella puede volver a hacerlo. Juega con la pelota tambien. Nosotros la rodamos, y ella la tira hacia nosotros. Encanta la musica, especialmente cuando papi toca la guitarra o hay una artista cantando en la tele.

Tiene Emma 5 dientes: los 2 colmillos, y 3 abajo. No tiene los dientes arribe y en frente. Quizas hacemos algo de disfraz tipo vampiro para Jaloquin (el 31 de octubre)...
